The non-existing Canadian eating culture..

As we’re staying in a hotel today and don’t have a kitchen, we decided to eat out. We were looking for a “non-fast-food” restaurant and saw a nice looking Greece restaurant, which also had pasta and pizza. Since there was nothing vegetarian on the menu for me, I decided to take a pizza (Menu: Pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms). Then the surprise… I got a ready-to-serve Pizza full of ham… Well, as the pizza cost about the same than in Switzerland and I didn’t want to order a new meal, I dissected the whole pizza until it was more or less eatable... After our disappointing eating experience we went to the next supermarket, which was still open at 8pm (a good thing about Canadian culture), and bought a delicious Häagan Dazs Icecream as dessert. I guess tomorrow we’re going to cook in the Hostel again. ;-)

I love Canada, but I believe I’ll never cotton on to the “fast-food style” of eating the Canadians have!

Hey sabina, I have spent 3 months in Canada, and there I also discovered, that they really don't have Canadian kitchen...tim hortons mc donalds, burger king, KFC and so on......could see it when I came back...:-) But you have to try the ICE Cappuccino in Tim Hortons...DELICIOUS! Take care...Sue
